Paula Baruch

Cantor Paula Baruch serves Temple Anshe Sholom, leading engaging worship and directing choirs and religious school music. Cantor Baruch holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and Economics from the University of Guelph, Bachelor of Education Degree from Queen’s University, Masters of Adult Education from Central Michigan University and Cantorial Certification from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music, having graduated in May 2018. Cantor Baruch is a compassionate and creative teacher and musician. She is respected in her community for her work with youth and seniors and for the many musical gifts she brings. Cantor Baruch is married to Rabbi Jordan Cohen, and together they share five wonderful children and an amazing granddaughter.

Rabbi Jordan D. Cohen serves Temple Anshe Sholom in Hamilton, Ontario. Rabbi Cohen holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Waterloo and Masters Degrees in both Hebrew Literature and Education from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He was ordained as a Rabbi in 1990 at the Hebrew Union College in New York, where he was awarded a Doctor of Divinity (honoris causa) in 2015. A respected teacher and avid storyteller, Rabbi Cohen has studied and served congregations in Canada, Israel, the United States, Australia and China. He served as Associate Director of Kolel, the Adult Centre for Liberal Jewish Learning in Toronto and on the faculty of the internationally renowned Brandies-Bardin Institute in Los Angeles. Rabbi Cohen has published in the areas of Jewish education and folklore, and his weekly Internet Torah commentaries have been translated into three languages. Rabbi Cohen is married to Cantor Paula Baruch, and together they share five wonderful children and an amazing granddaughter.
